CAROL FORNEY

CAROL FORNEY is the perfect agent to help you travel the road to a successful real estate venture. Her whole life reads like an adventure and the diversity of life that she has experienced and her accomplishments through the years help her to assist all kinds of people from all kinds of lifestyles.
Her personal life adventure began in Florida where after finishing high school she spent one year at Auburn University and then transferred to the University of FL and earned a BA in Education and a Masters in ED specializing in working with emotionally disturbed and gifted children. Carol put herself through 2 years of graduate school on a working fellowship at the University of FL Medical School. She then was an instructor at LSU in New Orleans working with graduate students in Education; however she was young and yearned to travel. Consequently she became a flight attendant with Pan American World Airways. She enjoyed this for two years as it was the perfect answer for a young woman to see the world at an affordable price! She based out of San Francisco and her travel dreams came true as she worked Pacific flights. She enjoyed time in Australia, Tahiti, Hong Kong, and Japan, with vacations in Europe.
Carol began her next phase of travel adventure when she met and married her husband who had just returned from his 2nd tour of Vietnam with the Marines. She began her new career as a Marine wife and embraced it with her high energy and gusto, as in everything she does! She actually enjoyed the moving every one to two years, seeing new places and meeting all kinds of people. The last six years of Military life was in Japan and she feels fortunate to have had the experience of this beautiful culture and the warm and friendly people. While her husband Bill, who is now a retired Brigadier General, attended to Marine duties, Carol raised their two children and was a highly active volunteer Marine wife. She was a coordinator and instructor with the Red Cross overseas. She also developed a three day Group Leadership Training Seminar for wives of senior military personnel and trained facilitators to run the seminars. This program was adopted by the Marine Corps and placed in the Marine Corps University in Quantico, VA.
After Marine retirement thirteen years ago Carol and her family were finally able to realize their dream of moving to the mountains of Western North Carolina for the enjoyment of the wonderful four seasons. Since being here, Carol once again embraced her new home and as well as starting her real estate career, she has been a docent at the Biltmore Estate and has written and taught a course for Seniors for UNC.
Always striving to be better prepared, Carol has continued her professional education. She now holds the designations of: ECO: Certified Environmental Consultant; ALHS: Accredited Luxury Home Specialist; CNHS: Certified New Home Specialist; and RCC: Residential Construction Certified. She is very concerned about responsible building, continually strives to better serve all of her clients and works to help protect the environment & our natural resources.
