At first meeting you’ll know why his former client’s love to recommend him to others. He is the perfect blend of professionalism personified and the friendliness of an old friend. He indeed never met a stranger he didn’t like and who didn’t like him!
A native of Louisville, Kentucky he continued his higher education at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky where he earned a B.A. in Speech Pathology and an M.A. in Education with a focus on learning disabilities. He began his teaching career in Kentucky with physically and mentally challenged pre-school children and later spent two years as a high school special education teacher in Virginia.
His career took a drastic turn when he entered the business world through IBM. Starting in sales and quickly climbing the corporate ladder through the years as Program Manager Office systems in the Mid-Atlantic regional office, Marketing Manager-National Accounts in Washington, DC, Program Manager-Southwest Marketing Division headquarters, a channels business development executive,…………..and the list goes on! Charles says “If you want to go where you have never been, you need to do what you have never done.” Charles London seems to have done it all; and done it all well.
Standout life experiences throughout his business life include being the Director of Volunteer Services – Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. He was responsible for the program execution and infrastructure development to recruit, assign, train, uniform and deploy 47,500 volunteers for the Centennial Olympic Games. He managed a full time staff of 59 employees and loaned executives. He was also Consultant to the Nagano, Japan government for the volunteer program for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games.
Charles and his wife Ida have two grown children and having visited Asheville several times through the years they made a decision they wanted to call Asheville home. Charles embarked on his real estate career, and found it to a perfect fit for his accumulated skills.
He believes there are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional – integrity, in – depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high – quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how Charles London works.
After his many career moves over the years and buying and selling real estate, Charles experienced all the trials and tribulations of relocation moves, as well as local moves. These real estate activities enabled him to fully understand the expectations of first time as well as luxury buyers. When he began his real estate career he developed his “client – first” philosophy. This means keeping himself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator and responding quickly to his client’s needs.
