People are talking about David Efird…..and it’s all good! A native North Carolinian, David grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a degree in Business Administration.
He spent 20 years in Management & Sales in his family’s retail clothing business. This well-known business grew to 29 stores throughout the Piedmont of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. As the company grew throughout the years, David grew with it, in knowledge, experience and developing sales, management and marketing skills.
Throughout these years David had a passion for real estate and prepared himself for his future career by earning his N.C. real estate license in 1982. By chance, he and his family enjoyed a weekend vacation in Lake Lure. They loved their limited time there so much that they decided to buy a cottage at Lake Lure and the die was cast for their permanent move in 2000 and for David’s new career in real estate.
David has deservedly earned an outstanding reputation for helping others find their “special place” in the mountains of North Carolina. He is a relationship builder and a trust builder, consequently this trust and rapport leads his clients to enjoy successful transactions. Bringing buyers and sellers together with a high level of satisfaction is his most important goal and to him, the reward.
Two important words to David are CONSERVATION and PRESERVATION. He was fundamental in taking the initial steps to induce the state of North Carolina (and others) in the purchase of a 1568 acre tract of land known as the “World’s Edge” tract which abutted Chimney Rock Park. As a result; future generations will be able to enjoy the mountains, the trails, the streams, and the beauty and peace of this beautiful place.
David is active in the “Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy” and serves on the board of Trustees, the Executive Committee and the Land Committee; and is also a member of Trouts Unlimited and the Sierra Club.
He and his wife Charlene enjoy hiking and golf and the specialness of this area and their two grown children who both reside in Charlotte, NC. When buying or selling in the Lake Lure area call David. You won’t be disappointed. People ARE talking about David….and his trustworthiness and service.
