Doug grew up in Asheville and graduated from the Asheville City School system. He then attended East Carolina University and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity, then studied Appraisal of Real Estate at Wake Forest. He had a successful career in banking and as Manager of Wachovia Mortgage Company of WNC before entering the Real Estate profession. From 1977 to 2001, he owned and operated his own Real Estate company. Doug has been a stellar member of the Asheville Board of REALTORS and the North Carolina Association of REALTORS and has earned many accolades for his many contributions to these professional Real Estate trade organizations. He was awarded the "REALTOR of the Year" award and was instrumental in the start up of the Asheville Board's Real Estate Weekly Real Estate publication. His volunteer work titles are too numerous to mention; however, some of them include: serving on the Board of Directions for the North Carolina Association of REALTORS and as Regional Vice President of the organization, Director of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and the Board of Directors for the Fair Housing Commission of Asheville. He is also an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.

With Doug, you also get the "Bebber and Bebber" team. His wife Debbie brings over 11 years of experience to their customers and clients individual needs. Debbie's techinical and organizational skills give their clients all the services needed for a successful real estate transaction.

In their spare time, Doug & Debbie enjoy being with friends & family, including four grandchildren, gardening, and a few holes of humiliation on the golf course.
