Donna feels like an Asheville native by now, as she has been in Asheville happily for 18 years. She started life in Wichita, Kansas and attended Wichita State University. She also lived for a time in San Diego, CA before her life led her to Western North Carolina. During that time she joyfully enjoyed raising her three sons who are now 19, 17, and 14. She considers them her best personal accomplishment and has thoroughly enjoyed their sports activities through the years.
In her 30’s Donna began achieving her career goals when she enrolled in Western Carolina University and earned a BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. She enjoyed a successful career as a Medical technologist for three years at Mission Hospital and three years at the Sisters of Mercy. During this time she bought and sold real estate, and enjoyed every aspect of the purchase, the fix up process and subsequent sale of real property. This interest in real estate led her to choose real estate as a career and she earned her real estate license in 2001.
Donna’s father was an inventor and photographer, which led to a very interesting and diverse life. For years he was a photographer for Boeing . While photographing planes for Boeing he accidentally caught the first photo ever taken of the curvature of the earth, which was featured in LOOK magazine in 1946. Later he owned his own business, Kreonite, Inc. It was a family business in which Donna and her 4 sisters and two brothers participated. It was a photo processing and photo lab and specialized in producing lab equipment, photographic processors and x-ray equipment.
Today Donna enjoys life with her husband Drew who is the morning host on our local “Kiss Country” radio show. She modestly says her favorite recreation is golf and when you get to know her you might find out that in 2003 she actually won the “Women’s Club Championship” at the Cliffs at the Valley. Other activities she enjoys are recreational dancing and she loves old music.
Donna says that because of her buying and selling experience she identifies with the emotions of her buyer’s and seller’s. She is also personable and caring with old fashioned morals and values.
