Garry Smith is a North Carolina native, having grown up in our beautiful coastal town of Wilmington, NC.  He spent many years working his way West and he got here as soon as he could!  His business took him to both Boone and Charlotte, NC before he and his wife made their way to the Asheville area when they moved to Haywood County in 1996.

Twelve years later Garry and his wife still enjoy the beauty of this area and the recreational amenities that are available including gardening and traveling and hiking the wonderful mountains of North Carolina. Being a golfer since the age of twelve and playing to a low handicap, Garry also has taken advantage of playing many of the interesting and beautiful golf courses in the area.

Prior to his real estate career in W.N.C Garry enjoyed a successful career in the Insurance business, first as an agent, and then as a manager in an Asheville office.  Garry and his wife Polly also are entrepreneurs and own a business in Waynesville called Outer Spaces Gallery , which specializes in outdoor artwork and is managed by Polly.

He is a member of and active in the Haywood County Board of Realtors, a member and past deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church, and is active in the Waynesville Gallery Association; serving on the steering committee 2004-2005.

Garry’s clients appreciate his vast knowledge of the area, his attention to detail and his “leave nothing to chance” attitude.  This is what helps his buyer’s and seller’s get to their successful closing with all the “i’s” dotted and the “t’s” crossed!
