John Barber is a North Carolina native. Born in Chapel Hill, his growing up years was enjoyed in the small town of Hendersonville. The mountains, forests, streams and trails in this area provided the idyllic back drop in which to grow up. John’s wife Katherine, who is an Interior Designer and a real estate broker, considers it a privilege and a joy to have been able to raise their two children here.

After graduating from Hendersonville High School, John made his way to East Carolina University, where he was on the Deans List and earned a BSBA in Real Estate.

John’s 25 years in real estate provides his clients with unequaled knowledge of the real estate market, local market history and current market data. He is a wealth of information for all clients in all price ranges and for all needs; whether it is schools, hospitals, restaurants, or golf courses. Additionally, as a residential building contractor and numerous years in golf course development sales, his keen eye for detail is a definite asset to both buyers and sellers.

When asked his special skill, John responds "listening". As a top producing realtor for over 25 years he has built his business by building relationships with his clients; not just making a sale. Over 90% of his business comes from former clients. His Golden Rule philosophy creates a win – win situation for all concerned in a real estate transaction.
