Janet Wheeler is one of those people who were lucky enough to be born in Western North Carolina! A native of Asheville, she graduated from Clyde A. Erwin High School. She went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration from Lee University in Chattanooga, TN. Growing up, she had already learned a lot of business skills by helping her parents run their business; the popular “Little Beaver” child care center.
She relocated to Atlanta where her entrepreneurial and business skills resulted in owning and running a highly successful business for six years before selling and making her way home to Asheville. Upon her return she spent several years in the banking business and consumer lending and then turned in a new direction, marrying and eventually being blessed with beautiful twin daughters.
Like so many women today, while devoting life to young children, she remained involved in her community and spent 10 years working on meaningful projects with the Junior League of Asheville. She is now a sustainer and works with Asheville Services.
Janet was well prepared when she started her real estate career. She has the perfect combination of expert business and organizational skills and a really unassuming and pleasant manner and an obvious spirit of care and concern for her clients needs; first and foremost.
She loves to travel and has enjoyed excursions to London, Scotland, Hawaii, Jamaica, the British Virgin Islands, New York, California and Arizona. Her experience re-doing old houses has been a real source of joy and learning and is a plus for many of her real estate clients. Decorating, reading and family time with her husband and daughters provide a fulfilling life in these western North Carolina mountains that she loves sharing with newcomers to the area.
