KAREN DONATELLI is a proven, experienced agent with the perfect blend of gracious southern hospitality and business acumen.
After graduation from high school in Lake Worth, Florida, as a determined young woman and a self starter, Karen entered the Breakers Hotel Apprenticeship Culinary Program in Palm Beach Florida. She completed the apprenticeship program as a Pastry Major and won many awards for pastry competitions, including two Silver and one Bronze award from the American Culinary Federation. She became a pastry chef at the renowned “Breakers Hotel” in Palm Beach specializing in wedding cakes and pastries. The sweetest part of this job was meeting her husband Vincent who is a pastry chef and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America-. The husband and wife team worked together on many projects, mainly opening bakeries from Pittsburgh to Orlando and held positions at various locations; Vincent at Buena Vista Palace and opening a culinary team for Universal Studios, Fl., while Karen was the pastry chef at the prestigious Lake Nona Country Club before opening “Cake Designs”.
Karen’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to opening her own business, CAKE DESIGNS, Inc., where she created the essence of elegance as a pastry artisan. Her talents took her vision to new heights and took her business to meteoric success. Her commercial customers included Delta Airlines, Virgin Records, the Orlando Magic, and retail clients such as Doctor “J.” Irving and his wife, Turquoise, Stevie wonder, and Chip Carey.
Karens mother is from Tennessee and she has lots of relatives there as well as in Georgia and North and South Carolina. She and her family spent many years visiting this area and finally the call for a change of pace and a change of place took hold. Karen and Vincent and their three children happily relocated to Asheville and Karen went from being a pastry chef artisan to “A Professional in the fine Art of Real Estate”. Her exemplary attention to detail, her proven ability to build a business and satisfy clients because of her uncanny ability to make each client feel “at home” with her, have culminated in her becoming an award winning Realtor® in Asheville.
Asheville has been the perfect blend for this tight knit family; Vincent is an instructor in the culinary department at A-B Technical College and two of the children are off to college and one is a sophomore at T. C. Roberson High School in south Asheville and they attend the Basilica of St. Lawrence.
Karen is a highly active volunteer in community affairs as a Board Member for Eliada Home for Children, supports the TC Roberson Rams club, Board Member & is PTSO Secretary; TC Roberson.
