For 30 years she enjoyed a successful career in marketing, from working for a major magazine, to government contracts, to a sales career as a manufacturer's rep. She also enjoyed her career as a "military wife" when she wed her high school sweetheart, an Air Force pilot. She made new homes often as his career took them to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona and South Dakota. It's for sure that Karen knows all about every aspect of moving.

Having moved to Asheville in 1985, so she almost qualifies as a "southerner" now! She and her husband , an Asheville attorney, have three children from age eleven to 26. Since her oldest child is an equestrian, Karen has spent many years as a United States Pony Club volunteer.

She is a 22 year member of  ABWA (American Business Women's Association) and is the current President. In 2005, she was elected "Woman of the Year" and represented the chapter at The National Convention. Karen is also a 10th Mountain Division Descendant. Other community participation includes membership at the First Presbyterian Church of Asheville.

Karen has a passion about helping newcomers to the area with her knowledge of communities, available civic activities, schools and cultural events. She loves the experience of assisting buyers and sellers in making "local" moves since she feels so blessed to have called this area home for her and her family for so many years.
