Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Kathryn is the oldest of five children.  She moved with her family to Lafayette, La., when she was nine years old and her family still lives there. She was educated at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in the tiny town of Grand Coteau, and graduated from high school there. She continued her education at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va, transferred to Louisiana State University and graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Kathryn began her love affair with North Carolina at the age of 12 when her parents sent her to the mountains to attend Camp Green Cove on Lake Summit. She spent 8 weeks every summer for the next 8 years at the camp and was an avid canoer and rock climber.  She made a promise to herself that one day when she was grown up she would move to this area.  It took a while but she eventually made it back to the good life of Western North Carolina.

Kathryn and her husband are avid outdoor people and they take advantage of the availability of the many hiking trails here and also love to play tennis, snow ski, and fly fish. They have three grown children. These days Kathryn and her husband keep company with their two dogs, Goldendoodles Jackson and Ella Jane, and one cat,  Tajar.

Before moving to Western NC, Kathryn was a Realtor® in Louisiana and South Carolina. She has experience in both the Hendersonville and the Asheville market.  She loves “the hunt” part of real estate.  She is a high energy, “problem solver” type personality who gets as much satisfaction finding the perfect property for her clients as they do!  Her buyers and sellers are the winners when they get to take advantage of her organized and detailed approach in assisting them in the steps to a successful closing of the home they are buying or selling.  Kathryn Overstreet walks to the beat of your personal satisfaction!
