     Small home town values in the southern mountain area of Western North Carolina combined with the technical knowledge and long-term experience in the fast paced world of real estate; welcome to “My World” – since 1983.        

     My paternal roots are here in the hills of Hoopers Creek and the Fletcher area.  Growing up, my family and I experienced the excitement, trials and rigors of moving to a new part of the country every 3 years as my father was transferred to various US Naval bases.  These numerous transfers made us aware of how hard it is to pick up roots, move family and belongings; and what is required to find a new home in a strange new community.

     Customer service has always been my job description whether in the United States Air Force in hospital admissions & discharge; or in the banking industry acquiring and setting up new accounts while providing excellent customer service.

     My children, two boys, grew up and attended schools in this area: elementary, high school and on to college.  They have, much to my delight, settled here to raise their families and pursue their careers.  Having always taken a very “hands on” approach with my family, their interests and education; my husband, Mike, and I have always been there in the midst of church activities, youth and children’s groups, soccer and basketball, PTO, booster clubs, guitar lessons and youth music groups.  We feel our boys and our grandchildren have a well-rounded and challenging lifestyle here in the mountains of North Carolina.

Designations I have studied for and earned:

                CNHS: Certified New Home Specialist, a designation for those real estate professionals wanting to create a true teamwork relationship between a builder and a home buyer; based on realistic expectations, clearly defined responsibilities, open communications, and mutual goals.  This designation has provided a great foundation for working successfully with several local builders in construction of everything from log cabins to luxury vacation homes.

     For pure joy, rejuvenation and fulfillment, I enjoy anything to do with being outdoors and gardening, exploring and hiking through the mountain, walking our dogs, helping animals, camping, road trips, watching soccer and baseball games, practicing yoga, swimming and being a member of a book club.  Now that we are “empty nesters”, our Labrador retrievers (Bodette and Lucky Lady) have become a great part of our free time.
