5 Great Reasons to Sell Your House Today

5reasons_600x235We are often asked “Is it time to sell my home?” The answer to that question is based on what your families’ goals are. If you don’t need or want to move for a few years it might make sense to wait for the housing industry to recover and prices to appreciate. However, if you wish to move within the next six to eighteen months, it is probably better to sell sooner rather than later. Here are five reasons why:

Your House Will Get More Exposure Now Than the Winter

Housing sales usually level off in the summer and then regain momentum in September and October. The spring buyers’ market has passed. Don’t miss the early fall market. It has consistently outperformed the winter season.

Distressed Properties Will Impact Prices

Distressed properties (foreclosures and short sales) on the market will increase this fall and winter. This will put tremendous downward pressure on prices for at least the next 12-18 months. Get your home sold before they become your competition.

Real Estate Outlook: Stalled Markets Becoming Trend

486350-1by Carla Hill

Real estate is in a holding pattern. Professionals and sellers, alike, keep looking for signs that the market will beat what ails it. This week, though, saw sales declines, flat commercial vacancy rates, as well as meager new home sales.

There is a bright spot in all of the recent figures. Pending homes sales grew substantially year or year from 2010, up 14.4 percent as a whole. Some regions fared much better, such as the West, which is up 20.6 percent over July 2010. The Midwest also saw double-digit growth and is now 18.8 percent above July 2010.

What is holding back growth in this quarter, however? Pending home sales declined in July by 1.3 percent from the month prior. Some experts blame the stall on the continued mortgage mess. Limited access to credit has buyers sitting on the sidelines. Fewer buyers translates into less demand, which in turn translates into falling prices.

Hendersonville man combines varied influences to create delicious food

Tony Schlarb recognized as the Chef of the Week by GoUpstate.com.

By LINDA CONLEY
linda.conley@shj.com

bildeTony Schlarb’s cooking experience can be compared to a great dish made with just the right amounts of everything.

He received a pound of experience watching his grandmother and mother in the kitchen. While serving four years in the Navy in Italy, he got another measure of training by starting a catering business with his former wife.

Schlarb returned to the U.S. and added the right mix of work by establishing a catering business in Palm Springs and later opening a bread-baking company in Sacramento, Calif. He left cooking and went into retail before retiring to Hendersonville, N.C., in 2002.

The aroma of the kitchen lured him back in recent years, and he is topping off his career by teaching monthly cooking classes at Rabbit & Co. in downtown Hendersonville.

One of the great things about Western North Carolina is the diversity of experience that people moving into the area have brought with them. It appears that Tony Schlarb is one such example. For such a small area the quality of restaurants, artisans, and entrepreneurs is amazing.  I am not sure there is a place anywhere else in the southeast that enjoys the same overall quality of life. To learn more about living in Hendersonville or any of the other areas in Western North Carolina don’t hesitate to use our, Beverly-Hanks & Associates customer service as a resource.
