Cashiers
The unincorporated village of Cashiers is located in a green valley at 3,500 feet and is surrounded by 5,000 foot mountains. It is believed that the town earned its name from those who weighted gemstones at the base of the mountains and paid cash to the miners.
Downtown Cashiers is a crossroads at the junctions of US 64 and North Carolina 107 and a little over a mile radius of antique shops, high-end restaurants, and second-home clusters of homes discreetly placed in the woods.
This is an outdoorsmen dream with access to the most magnificent waterfalls around, the best fly-fishing, miles and miles of hiking trails.
