Historic Hendersonville and the Village of Flat Rock
Historic Hendersonville and the Village of Flat Rock have been attracting visitors to this area since the early 19th century. The cooler summers lured many coastal South Carolina residents to build summer homes here, particularly in the Flat Rock area. Many of those antebellum homes are maintained and lived in today. The climate is still attracting new residents who want to enjoy four beautiful seasons, but there is so much more to enjoy in the Hendersonville area.
Hendersonville is a wonderful and unique combination of small town charm with larger city amenities. It is located just 22 miles southeast of Asheville at an altitude of 2200 feet and is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its picturesque Main Street is a popular spot for walking, shopping and dining. Cultural amenities include a symphony orchestra, choral societies, amateur and professional theaters, a children's museum and art galleries. In addition, there is a fine arts cinema in Flat Rock and a 14-screen first run movie theater in Hendersonville.
The Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina, produces professional dramatic, comedy and musical performances ten months of the year in two locations. The original and larger theatre is in Flat Rock and the new Playhouse Downtown is on Main Street in Hendersonville. Flat Rock Playhouse also offers year-round classes and workshops for students from kindergarten through adults.
Henderson County has become extremely popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, biking, whitewater paddling, fishing and hunting are actively pursued by many residents. The Green River Gamelands, Dupont State Forest and the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site are three of the more popular locations for enjoying the natural beauty of these mountains. Plans are underway to create an 18.5 mile rails-to-trails walkway/bikeway from Hendersonville to Brevard. Once completed, the Ecusta Trail will be the second longest rail-trail in North Carolina.
Golf and golfing communities are available throughout the county. From a Par-3 to a Tom Fazio designed course, the six public and three private golf courses appeal to golfers of all abilities.
Summer camps have played a large role in Henderson County since the early 1920's. With approximately twenty operating camps, the arrival of the summer camp season is what draw…

"We have known Lynn for several years. She has assisted us on more than one occasion when selling residential real estate. She is very professional, knowledgeable about real estate law, comprehensive, and demonstrates creative marketing skills regardless if you are the buyer or seller. Lastly, she is very dependable and you can count on Lynn to be diligent to accomplish the results you are seeking."
"Lynn listened very closely to our desires which enabled us to make the best use of our time and be extremely focused in our search. She was also a veritable wealth of information about the community regarding both the real estate market and things in general. As a result of her efforts we found our dream home and, as a bonus a good friend for life."
"I just wanted to let you know what a positive experience we have had selling our home with Lynn Huffman. Due to her diligence and her creative marketing, our house sold in record time. Lynn has so much energy and is so knowledgable about the market, we knew from the beginning that we were in good hands. She kept us fully informed throughout the entire process, was very professional and was always available to answer our questions. Lynn even stood in for us at the closing because we were unable to be there. She went above and beyond to market and sell our home and we could not be more pleased. Beverly-Hanks is fortunate to have Lynn on their team."
