How long are homes staying on the market?
How long a home stays on the market depends on many factors. But, if we assume the house is well prepared for showings and is priced right, then the price range and the location of the home will be strong determinants. Homes in Buncombe County priced under $800,000 are going under contract in two to three weeks. Properties found in counties like Madison, Haywood, and Polk remain on the market for six to eight months. And it’s not uncommon for luxury homes to be on the market for nine months or more. Check out our Quarterly Market Report for more detail on nine counties throughout Western North Carolina.
