About Me
It’s a beautiful life here in the Western North Carolina mountains, and there is no place that I would rather call home.
My husband and I live on the original Fisher Family Farm that has been in the family for more than 100 years. Donny and I were high school sweethearts and married shortly after graduation. We have three beautiful children and 11 grandchildren also living in Lake Toxaway. It is my greatest joy to spend time with the family, gathering on the farm and watching them live their best lives.
I love outdoor living; gardening is a true passion; the flower garden is one of my favorites. I was fortunate to help my daughter in her floral design studio, which specializes in weddings. I also love vintage finds and the creativity of a makeover; Pinterest is a wonderful inspiration for all projects. Church activities and being involved with the community have always been very important to our family. Donny has played bluegrass music for more than 30 years, and it is a joyous adventure, taking us to many beautiful places all over the mountains with its rich heritage and mountain culture that is so deeply rooted within our family.
Experience
If you are looking to sell or buy here in the WNC mountains, I would love the opportunity to discuss your real estate goals and would consider it a privilege to work with you to accomplish them.
I am a native of Transylvania County and a lifetime resident of Lake Toxaway. After surviving cancer in 2003, I decided it was time to pursue my dream job of becoming a RealtorⓇ. I started my real estate career in 2004, obtaining my broker's license from the Cumbie & Trull School of Real Estate. I love this career and helping people realize their real estate dreams!
My heritage brings knowledge and a deep understanding of Transylvania County and the surrounding areas. As a lifetime resident, I know the area well, and it has proven to be an asset when finding my clients the perfect place to call home. Through the years, I have had the privilege of assisting many of the residents, along with family and friends, with selling their homes or land, enabling them to move on to the next phase of their lives.
Together, my husband and I founded a business selling landscaping and erosion control products with great success, which was a great learning experience in sales and public relations.
Before becoming a full-time real estate agent, I worked in the banking industry for five years at Brevard Federal Savings & Loan, a local branch that was in Lake Toxaway. I also worked in accounting at the Lake Toxaway Company for many years.

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?
Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
