About Me

Coming back to the North Carolina mountains after spending all her summers in Saluda has been like living on vacation time. During the war she was born right down the mountain from Saluda in Tryon. The other nine months were spent in Clemson, South Carolina which was a wonderful place to grow up in since her family was a part of the college and all the grand opportunities it offered...safety, college sports, concerts, close knit families and small town living! Some of these things carried over into her mountain lifestyle...the four seasons with delightful summers being the "best of all worlds".

Laurens, South Carolina was home to her former husband and two children for over twenty years. Now there are five grandchildren, a daughter-in-law and son-in-law to love.

After living ten years in Saluda, she moved to Hendersonville as a bride! Life can begin again! The Weymers (Bill) enjoy hiking, taking in plays, dancing, taking day trips to new places off the beaten path, swimming, exercising and volunteering. Their church life at the Church of the Transfiguration and giving back to the communities are a large part of their lives together. Being a Realtor is just "icing on the cake"! Having worked in this field for over thirty years has added get joy and happiness to her life!

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?

Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
