Neal Hanks, President of Beverly-Hanks & Associates recently recognized Debbie’s award-winning efforts in finding creative solutions to our challenging market, her unrelenting dedication to her clients’ needs, and her commitment to excellence.
Debbie grew up on a large farm in South Texas where she learned valuable life lessons. On the farm, she learned hard work and developed her exemplary work ethic. “My Dad often said, ‘Don’t waste daylight.’ which means you focus on being productive, Debbie says. A graduate of Texas State University, Debbie says she's thankful her father taught her grit and a “no excuses” way of living.
Before taking the leap into real estate, Debbie had a 20+ year career in human resource management, where she developed her excellent communication and organizational skills. Wanting something new, she made a career change into real estate over five years ago, and came in at $30 million in sales in 2022. Debbie also earned recognition as a "Top 100 Agent" for the past four years in a row out of over 3,500 licensed agents in the area. She is also one of the Top 10 performing agents in her firm of approximately 500 agents.
“For every new client, I consider: ‘What is the most positive experience I can give them?’ Debbie puts her clients first and finds great fulfillment in exceeding their expectations. She loves meeting new people every week and now views her clients as an enormous group of friends. “My job energizes me! I always have my clients' best interest in mind and I genuinely care about my clients. It’s so fulfilling to take care of my client's needs and help them find the right home or get the most for the home they're selling.”
Debbie’s husband Dan is an engineering manager at Eaton Corp. and together they have two wonderful children, Macy, a Liberty University graduate and Matthew, 21, who is a senior at Liberty.
When she isn’t working, Debbie loves to explore small towns in the area with her husband, shop local, and go hiking. She also loves to refinish furniture.
Known for her professionalism, care, and follow-through, approximately 90% of Debbie’s business comes from referrals from past clients and friends. “Referrals are the biggest compliment I could receive,” she says. Character is also very important to Debbie. “We set the example. It’s up to me to set the tone and bring that high character to the industry and be the best representative I can possibly be.”
