Elizabeth Etheridge
About Me
I was raised in Biltmore Forest and spent my childhood building forts in the woods, horseback riding, and enjoying life-long friends in my neighborhood. After attending Carolina Day School, I finished high school at St. Mary's School in Raleigh, NC. Soon after, I was off to Washington, D.C. to attend the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. I am an outdoor enthusiast, so I found myself in Boulder, Colorado. While in Colorado, I graduated with an arts and science degree and returned home in 1997 to be with my family.
My daughter is a field hockey player at Sewanee: The University of the South, and my son attends Christ School. I volunteer at Camp Carolina in Brevard, and support high school and college athletics.
Genuine, hard working, and with a great sense of humor is how I would describe myself. When I am not showing real estate, you can find me hiking the trails of WNC or playing tennis with friends.
Experience
I would love to share my experience, knowledge, and expertise with you.
After college, I began buying and renovating homes. This proved to be a perfect segue into real estate. I have been a top performing real estate agent in Western North Carolina for more than 15 years. I can assist you with selling or buying, designing, and renovating your new home. In addition to residential sales, I have experience with investors, banks, and 1031 exchanges.
My WNC roots run deep—I’m a third generation Asheville resident. I am knowledgeable about this area and look forward to helping you navigate and discover your goals. Give me a call and let me show you these mountains!
Testimonials
Elizabeth was absolutely wonderful. She's very patient, approachable and positive. She was never aggressive or pushy and paid close attention to what I liked and disliked as we went through the process to help me refine what it was I was looking for. She was willing to be direct and honest where necessary. As a first time home owner, she made an otherwise daunting process easy and fun.

Elizabeth Etheridge has been a real pleasure to work with. She has been supportive, communicative and resourceful throughout the process, and I always felt like I was getting her honest opinion. She also went above and beyond to land the contract at a very competitive price. She has really looked out for my best interests.

Elizabeth was crucial to my closing this transaction. Without her assistance every step along the way, this 1031 exchange would not have happened. I could not have had a better broker. Elizabeth went above and beyond what a client could expect; she fostered my interests above hers.

It’s always stressful moving to a new city and Elizabeth has gone out of her way to make this an easy transition....from showing us around and making recommendations/finding and arranging contractors to fit our needs. We could not have done this as easily without all of her knowledge and assistance.

Elizabeth is a fantastic agent! She has superb knowledge of the Asheville area and was crucial to us finding and negotiating our home purchase!

Elizabeth was very thorough. She suggested I get a radon inspection, and there was Radon present. She suggested I get the septic inspected, and it was full. I had never heard of Radon until I started looking to buy a house. Thank you Elizabeth for preventing lung cancer! She was always available to answer any question I had at that moment. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to anyone looking to buy a house!

Elizabeth Etheridge is very personable, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We met Elizabeth a couple of years ago, but at the time we were not sure about relocating from California to North Carolina. Nonetheless, she showed us innumerable properties in the area - we were not ready then. The fact that we started the purchase of this home in Western North Carolina while we were in Spain, attests to our complete trust in Elizabeth Etheridge. She is honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and always pleasant. We think very highly of her, and she has stepped up to the plate to our expectations every time. Thank you.

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?
Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
