What does the architectural style “Craftsman” really mean?
Originally, the term “Craftsman” referred to a home built from plans featured in Gustav Stickley’s early 20th century magazine, Craftsman. The term came to mean a home built under the Arts & Crafts influence, which rebelled against the excesses of the Victorian era. The style fell out of favor with the advent of the even more casual styles popular after World War II, but has since surged in popularity. Arts & Crafts is less a style and more an architectural approach. Arts & Crafts homes emphasize the use of natural materials, dominant fireplaces, large front porches or sunrooms, low pitched roofs, and open floor plans.

We met Gordon with another agent at an Open House one Sunday afternoon. He listened to exactly what we wanted and immediately offered a showing of multiple properties that very next week. He was immediately attentive to our needs and very respectful of our difficult work schedule. Gordon did a fantastic job in helping us navigate the complex due diligence and closing process. He did a great job keeping the deal alive and moving forward!
