About Me

I moved to Asheville in 2017 after a 33-year career in insurance technology in Columbia South Carolina where I developed and sold software and business solutions to the insurance industry. Starting fresh out of college as an Assembly and Cobol Programmer, I worked my way from entry level programmer to Marketing and Sales Support to Technology Sales serving as Director of Sales for several different product teams. This professional experience has served me well in my role as a residential broker associate for Walnut Cove Realty.

My wife and I enjoy various automotive events. I raced for 13 years and my wife and I have owned and restored numerous show vehicles. I have been working on cars since before I could drive! I am ASE certified in various mechanical areas and iCAR certified in paint and bodywork. We currently show two antique autos; a 1932 Ford Model 18 (which has been in my family since purchased in 1932!) and a 1965 Ford Falcon.

I am a proud dad of two strong and talented kids; a daughter who is an artist and small business owner; and a son who is an aspiring author living in St. Thomas with his wife. Asheville has always been a special place for me for reflection and renewal and I have been coming here with my wife for decades. I am happy to now be a permanent resident of this spectacular area of the country!

As an experienced real estate agent with extensive knowledge of the region and the most exclusive gated communities in Western North Carolina, my background in the insurance industry has provided me with an opportunity to travel worldwide; developing and fine tuning my communication skills, cultural awareness, and ability to determine customer needs and wants, and offer solutions that meet, and often even exceed, expectations. I enjoy working closely with a wide variety of Walnut Cove Realty clients, both buyers and sellers, who are drawn to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the wide variety of amenities available to them as community members of the area’s most beautiful gated communities.

Is there a best time of the year to buy a house?

When it comes to buying a home, there are pros and cons for each season. Generally, the best season to buy a home is in late summer or fall. There are still plenty of homes for sale, but without the intense competition found during spring. Sellers are also known for being a bit more flexible this time of the year. Zillow reports that the highest number of listings with at least one price reduction are found August–September. However, the deeper buyers venture into fall, the less choice is available. If you value choice, and you want more buyers competing for the home you are leaving, spring could be your best season. Ultimately, the best time to buy a home is when you’re financially ready to do so.
