About Me

I have called Haywood County home my entire life. I grew up outside of Canton in the Cruso area with the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway practically right at my back door.

My husband, Travis, and I have three boys, an older set of twins and their younger brother. We live just a stone's throw from where I grew up, and I love raising them here. The boys are involved in youth football, Little League baseball, and middle school wrestling. They keep us on our toes, and I'm told they'll keep us young! We love adventuring with them in the mountains and finding the best fishing holes in the Pigeon River.

We are Clemson Tiger fans, and we try to sneak away to football and baseball games there as often as we can. In the summer, you can find us vacationing at Surfside Beach, SC, where we love doing a whole lot of nothing. I love the ocean and the breeze and soaking up time with my family, but there's nothing like seeing our mountains on the way home to remind me where I truly belong.

Is there a best time of the year to buy a house?

When it comes to buying a home, there are pros and cons for each season. Generally, the best season to buy a home is in late summer or fall. There are still plenty of homes for sale, but without the intense competition found during spring. Sellers are also known for being a bit more flexible this time of the year. Zillow reports that the highest number of listings with at least one price reduction are found August–September. However, the deeper buyers venture into fall, the less choice is available. If you value choice, and you want more buyers competing for the home you are leaving, spring could be your best season. Ultimately, the best time to buy a home is when you’re financially ready to do so.
