Even if you don't have school-age children, schools matter to almost everyone. A 2013 realtor.com® survey of nearly 1,000 prospective homebuyers showed that 91% said school boundaries were important in their search. The same study found that half of homebuyers are willing to pay more than their budget, and more than half would give up a bedroom or garage to get into the right school. Homes in better districts tend to enjoy more price stability and sell more quickly than homes in less desirable school districts. We were unfamiliar with the Asheville-area real estate market. We were visiting friends in Asheville and decided to consider relocating to the area. We couldn't see much to differentiate one real estate brokerage from another just based on local area advertising, so we asked our friend for a recommendation. She said Beverly Hanks had a good reputation and offered to drive us to the nearest office. We stopped by your downtown office "cold", without any appointment, but were greeted warmly nevertheless. We met with Kim Holt and discussed the local real estate market vis-a-vis our own situation. We left Asheville a couple of days later and returned to Ohio. After our initial visit to your office it was 14-15 months before we were able to actually commence our property search in earnest. I re-contacted Kim Holt, reminded her of our earlier meeting, and asked it she could help us. She picked up right where we left off, as if no time had elapsed at all. Our distance from Asheville (Cleveland Ohio), my schedule, and our limited availability for travel presented some additional challenges - challenges which Kim handled deftly and with apparent ease. Finally, after six months and one contract that did not close (due to title problems on the seller's part) we closed on a parcel that we are very happy with. This would not have happened were it not for Kim's ceaseless efforts on our part. We would enthusiastically recommend Kim Holt to anyone looking for property in the greater-Asheville/Hendersonville area.
