About Me

I have been married to my wonderful husband, who is a local pastor, since 1992. I have raised two successful children, who I am extremely proud of, and am blessed to have two beautiful grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, paper crafting, and fishing with my husband. My husband and I also enjoy taking our lab mix and boxer mix dogs on walks in this beautiful area we call home!

Experience

I passionately believe in providing others with the same honesty, attention, and quality of service I expect when I am seeking assistance. I empathize with a variety of buyers and sellers, from retirees to life-long natives of Western North Carolina. I pride myself on having a high attention to detail and am willing to take the time to meet each client’s individual needs. With my willingness to get to know you and help you achieve your real estate goals, I will make you feel like my only client.

With my previous background in construction, I am well positioned to answer your design and fabrication questions on site and without delay. I served as a construction helper to my father, who was a residential builder for almost a decade, and assisted my husband with finish carpentry work for several years. This experience gave me an eye for quality construction, and I am excited to impart this knowledge to you. It is my goal to streamline the home buying process by translating your wish list into a home that best suits your individual needs. I know it is not only important to understand what you're looking for, but also why you have developed your specific list of desires and dreams, and then help make those dreams come true.

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?

Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
