About Me

So excited to work in real estate!

I am really happy to be part of the AllenTate/Beverly-Hanks team because I believe that we have the best overall offering to clients of any brokerage in the area. Our commitment to excellence in this industry is very strong and I am proud to represent them.

I'm a native Texan; growing up in Dallas and attending Baylor University where I earned a BBA and MBA and met my husband, Bill, a native of Asheville. After Bill finished law school at Wake Forest University, we moved to Asheville in 1990 where we raised our two wonderful children.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, having dinner with friends, traveling, and working in my yard. In the summer, you can find me on the practice range hitting golf balls, and on the tennis courts playing doubles. I am also a certified personal trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist and practice fitness and wellness as part of my everyday life.

Experience

I grew my career in sales and marketing working in multiple industries. I began in media sales, with what is now Spectrum Reach, stayed home to raise our children until they were in high school, then re-entered the workforce and started my own digital marketing firm. I was Marketing Director for digital publisher Everyday Health, and finally as Vice President of Marketing for a cyber security technology company. Now, I am bringing my energy and enthusiasm to real estate, and my extensive background in sales, marketing, and customer service, provides a strong foundation for serving my clients well. My successful career experience has given me the ability to problem solve for my clients, act as a trusted advisor, and look out for their interests as they navigate the process of buying or selling a property. I'm responsive and a provider of consistent communication; dependable, organized, and productive.

Reach out to me with any questions you might have about the area or real estate at 828-777-9329 or via email to [email protected]

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?

Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
