About Me
I chose Hendersonville, NC to be my new home almost 20 years ago. Having lived in Charlotte, NC for 10 years, the move to the mountains of western North Carolina in 1994 was an easy transition for me and my family. My older son was away at College in Minnesota but has now moved to Hendersonville and works as a kitchen designer and is part owner of Factory Direct Cabinets Tile and More. My younger son was in high school at the time of our relocation to Hendersonville and has now graduated UNC. He lives in Georgia and has a degree in Computer Science. James and I have been married for 43 years. We are presently "empty nesters". We are Nana and Papa to three grand children. We are without a dog at the moment but have had Cocker Spaniels as family members until just recently.
When my husband and I relocated to Hendersonville, we each started new careers. James had held executive positions since graduating Auburn University in 1972 with a degree in Business. I attended Columbus State University. While living in Charlotte, NC, we owned an industrial scale business where I managed the Accounting Department. Having lived in Cleveland, Ohio as well as Wayzata Minnesota, I have experienced the stress of moving to a new location and settling in quickly. Today, my husband is a licensed residential and commercial General Contractor and has a wonderful reputation as a custom home builder concentrating mostly in the Flat Rock and Laurel Park areas of Henderson County.

I received my North Carolina Brokers license in 1997 and I specialize in residential sales, including land, lots and new home construction. I am an experienced Broker and pride myself in my real estate ethics and professionalism. I also have an Accredited Buyers Representative designation. I work with buyers and sellers. It is my pleasure to assist you in the purchase of your dream home here in our beautiful mountain communities. Let me help make the transition less stressful and more enjoyable. How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?
Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
