Pronouns: She / Her / HersThe beauty of these mountains has a magnetic attraction, and I easily chose to live here as a young entrepreneur over 20 years ago. My experience as a business owner of six fitness facilities has afforded me skills in negotiations, handling details with "lots of plates in the air" and confidence in finding creative solutions, always with my clients best interest in mind.
Over the years, my dedication to service has been reflected in the awards I have received as the Gold's Gym International General Manager of the Year, Optimist of the Year from the Asheville Optimist Club and the Stephen’s Minister Leadership Award. Being a Broker in Western North Carolina was a natural next step in providing expertise in an area I have such a passion for.
I have that same commitment to my family. We are artists, musicians and avid health nuts. We love the art and music that is such a vibrant part of Asheville and its sister cities' culture. I dabble in oil painting and work out daily, while my husband, Bud, is a passionate mountain biker. My daughter, Gabriela, plays and sings, and my son, Tucker, loves all the brass. My daughter, Aixa, met her husband while they both attended UNC Greensboro to study music. She also works in Marketing at AllenTate/Beverly-Hanks and can attest to the immense variety of marketing venues we use when listing your home. We all love to travel and explore the sights of our communities like tourists! My parents retired here, and my brother owns and operates the successful Asheville Pizza & Brew, a local favorite.

How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?
Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
