We are home.®

Thomas Wolfe was wrong; you CAN come home again. That's what real estate professional, Paulette Childers knows for a fact.

Paulette's childhood was involved with real estate. Her mother owned and operated a highly successful real estate company in Waynesville during most of Paulette's growing up years. Paulette often assisted with tasks in the office as a young girl. She graduated from Tuscola High School and then was on her way out into the world. She attended Western Carolina University and Appalachian State University. She traveled, lived in different cities and enjoyed wonderful experiences. But in her heart and soul she knew the mountains were like cuddly blanket to her and her homeward journey began. In 1992 she decided to get her real estate license at Coastal Carolina and her heart pulled her back to her home place of Western North Carolina. She realized she could meld her overwhelming love of the area with a successful real estate career. Paulette feels there is no better way to connect with the natural beauty and splendor of WNC than running at beautiful Lake Junaluska as she does regularly. Running has been a passion for her since she was fifteen years old. She also admits to being an ardent animal lover which is a good thing for the four stray cats she nurtured back to health.

Paulette is on the run in several other ways also. Besides the demands of her highly successful real estate business she devotes herself unselfishly to her community. She is a graduate and Past President of Leadership Haywood Alumni; a Haywood County partnership with UNCA and Leadership Asheville. She has also been a Big Sister in the past.

She is equally dedicated to her professional organization as a member of the Haywood County Board of REALTORS. She served as President of Haywood County Board of REALTORS in 2008 and was voted REALTOR of the year 2008 by her piers. She has worked for her state association as well, serving as Secretary for the North Carolina Association of REALTORS (NCAR) Legislative Political Affairs Committee and served as Chair for the NCAR Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity Committee. Career achievements in 2006 include being awarded the Certified Residential Specialist Designation (CRS), by the Council of Residential Specialists. Only 35,000 REALTORS nationwide have earned the credential. She was also chosen to be a participant in NCAR Leadership Academy 2007. This is a highly competitive leadership development program for members of the NCAR. Each year, only 12 REALTORS® from across North Carolina are selected to participate in this annual program.

Paulette brings a lifetime of area knowledge and years of experience in the industry to guide her clients in making sound decisions. She has earned a reputation for her winning combination of expertise, friendly style and a desire to go above and beyond to serve her clients. Her favorite part of her career is establishing relationships with her clients that last well beyond the real estate transaction itself. Paulette believes that customer service is a way of life; not an afterthought or a slogan.
