Testimonials
Phyllis is an exceptional realtor with many years of experience. She sold us our house 25 years ago, and she sold it for us again when it was time to move on. We love Phyllis and appreciate her joyful and positive attitude!
Debi Morgan, Asheville

Would not hesitate to recommend Phyllis to anyone who is interested in buying or selling a home in Asheville, Buncombe or surrounding communities.
Diana Bilbrey, Asheville

Phyllis was never "pushy" in any way. She explained all the options and left me to make my own decision. Also, she was very familiar with the real estate lawyer's office which made my home purchase a smoother process.
Diana Bilbrey, Asheville, NC

Phyllis was so professional and I was very impressed with her knowledge and expertise. We were in touch on an almost daily basis and I now consider her a good friend. I will definitely contact her if I ever decide to sell my property.
Marsha Henson. Asheville

Phyllis Patton was a tremendous help during the sale of our home. She was always accessable and had the answers for us. She is very knowledgeable when she is listing and selling a home. I would recommend Phyllis Patton to anyone who is going to sell or buy a home. She will be the help you need to be successful.
Tommy Jones. Asheville, NC

Phyllis had sold a house for us before. We felt very comfortable with her and her knowledge. Would highly recommend her. Had a time limit to be in the home that Phyllis found for us. She went right to work and got us in it.

I have worked with Phyllis since first locating in the Asheville area over twenty years ago. She has worked SUPER hard for my family and I from 1994 through today. Phyllis has seen us through several in-town moves, the purchase of investment property, and now, a relocation out of state. Phyllis is a very hardworking, informed real estate professional and has bent over backwards to accommodate us in related endeavors!

I have worked on a professional level with Phyllis Patton for almost 20 years now. The first time Phyllis served me in her capacity as real-estate agent was when I was trying to move my family of seven to Asheville from Miami basically "blind" (no understanding of the market, the demographic, the school systems etc.). Phyllis handled our transition brilliantly, educating us about, and familiarizing us with the Asheville area to the point that when we finally did make the move, all of us were confident and secure that we had made the right choice. I have been loyal to Phyllis ever since, and she has served me perfectly through five real-estate transactions now. Phyllis is one of the most straightforward, patient, "real" people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with!
Ann (N. Asheville, Montford, Barnardsville, W. Asheville)

Phyllis was extremely helpful, patient, readily accessible, and educational in our search and purchase. We were concerned that we might overburden her with questions and requests for information. Quite simply, we felt that Phyllis went "above and beyond" the standard of a typical real estate agent.

Ask An Expert
How is the tax bill of a home determined in North Carolina?
Real property is appraised at 100% of market value and includes land, buildings, structures, and improvements. State law requires counties to reappraise every eight years, but many counties reappraise every four. A bill can be a combination of tax rates. For example, a home inside the City of Asheville and Asheville City School districts will have three separate tax rates represented on a bill: the Buncombe County rate, the City of Asheville rate, and the Asheville City School rate. All rates are totaled to calculate the total tax liability. Tax rate estimates for our mountain communities can be found on page 127 of the Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Welcome magazine.
