What types of repairs does a seller typically make for a home buyer?

It really depends on the market and the motivation of the parties involved. Repair requests usually signal the second round of negotiations and can be frustrating if sellers are not expecting them. While it’s hard to not take these requests personally, it is common for buyers to use home inspections to try and better their position. I encourage both my buyers and sellers to focus on the condition of comparably priced properties, whether another offer is likely, and if the defect is something that will need to be disclosed to all future buyers.
