Even if you don't have school-age children, schools matter to almost everyone. A 2013® survey of nearly 1,000 prospective homebuyers showed that 91% said school boundaries were important in their search. The same study found that half of homebuyers are willing to pay more than their budget, and more than half would give up a bedroom or garage to get into the right school. Homes in better districts tend to enjoy more price stability and sell more quickly than homes in less desirable school districts.
