About Me

Born and raised in Wisconsin, I graduated from Columbia in Chicago and spent most of my adult life in Southern California, where my entrepreneurial spirit took center stage. I was the founder of CareerFitter.com, Host of Timelife Music, Host of TV Guide, Host of HGTVs "Building Character", Host of the Morning Radio Show on 106.9 The Light, and I’m recognized for my Guest-Star appearances on NBC's TV show Friends as Phoebe's Boyfriend.

If you ask me what I want to be known for I will say "being a good dad". I am the father of teenage boy/girl twins. My wife "Dr. Norton" is a psychologist in private practice. I am active in a men's group at Walnut Cove and my friends from the group encouraged me to join Walnut Cove and Walnut Cove Realty.

Experience

My career in real estate sales began in 2006 in Beverly Hills, CA with my mentor June Scott, the legendary $100 million per year seller of the luxury homes of the rich and famous.

During this time, I also hosted a real estate show on HGTV, "Building Character". When June passed away, my wife and I moved to raise our twins in the beautiful Asheville, NC area.

Is there a best time of the year to buy a house?

When it comes to buying a home, there are pros and cons for each season. Generally, the best season to buy a home is in late summer or fall. There are still plenty of homes for sale, but without the intense competition found during spring. Sellers are also known for being a bit more flexible this time of the year. Zillow reports that the highest number of listings with at least one price reduction are found August–September. However, the deeper buyers venture into fall, the less choice is available. If you value choice, and you want more buyers competing for the home you are leaving, spring could be your best season. Ultimately, the best time to buy a home is when you’re financially ready to do so.
