How to Tour a Home if You Live out of Town in 4 Easy Steps

In today’s digital age, it’s easier than ever to research area communities and find the best real estate agent, even if you live out of town. You can search online for homes that meet your every criteria, from lot size and square footage to siding and flooring types. And with modern communication, the whole process moves much faster than the era of the fax.

But we recognize that for out-of-town homebuyers, there’s still one facet of the home search process that you miss: in-person home tours.

For some buyers, it’s not enough to see select photos of the kitchen and master suite—you want to inspect every nook and cranny of a home before you commit. That’s why we provide 3D home tours for many of our listings.

How to View a 3D Home Tour

Step 1: Submit your custom home search at Specify the community and property features that mean the most to you. Once you have your criteria in place, click any of the Search buttons.

Step 2: Select a home with a 3D button. As of today, you can preview which homes have 3D tours directly from the search results. Beverly-Hanks listings eligible for 3D tours include luxury homes (more than $1 million or $750 in Haywood County) or homes selected for the WLOS Home of the Week program. Select a home with a 3D tour that interests you.

Step 3: Click the 3D tour button. Review the features of the home, including the community and research tabs. If this home looks like it could be the one, click the teal 3D button on the photo section.

Step 2: Select a home with a 3D button.


Step 4: Allow the 3D tour to load, and peruse the home! Your 3D tour will begin in a central location of the home, often a foyer or landing. On a desktop, use your mouse to click and drag your view. You can turn left and right, or look up and down. On a mobile device, simple use your finger to swipe around the room.

Step 3: Click the 3D tour button.


To move forward and backward, click one of the transparent circles (or tap with your finger), and “you” will move across the room. To move quickly around the floor plan, click or tap the icon in the bottom left corner. You’ll see options for the “dollhouse” or floor plan views. To move between floors, use the expandable floor menu in the bottom right.
