Whether you’re a lifelong fan or you saw a movie in the theater and just want to learn more, there’s a reason to celebrate this weekend. The first Saturday of May is Free Comic Book Day, an unofficial holiday that’s officially awesome!
Most local comic book shops celebrate Free Comic Book Day—some with discounts, some with parties, and all with free comics! In Western North Carolina, these specialized stores tend to cluster near Asheville, but aficionados will drive into Henderson and Haywood Counties to find that perfect cover, as well.
We discovered four official Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) events taking place this Saturday, May 5, 2018. But we also know that’s not all. Even if you don’t see an event listed below, check out your local comic book store, support a local business, and find a fun comic books, t-shirt, or toy. We challenge you to visit them all!
