Working an extra shift so your coworker can see her son’s Christmas recital. Nice.
Volunteering for a good cause during the holiday season. Nice.
Buying something classy for your sister-in-law when you’d really rather … not. Very nice.
It’s official. You’re on Santa’s nice list! So, why not treat yourself to a nice holiday moment this year, too! But can you work it into your shopping budget?
When you walk into your favorite store or gift shop, it can be easy to push your Christmas gift budget to the limit! Luckily, our agents are masters of finding fun freebies on the go!
We asked them: Where can you find the best freebies while you’re shopping in WNC?
I always enjoy Ace Hardware and their free popcorn!
Looking for a great bottle of wine? Check out Table Wine on Hendersonville Road and you’ll find friendly service and a great selection. What you don’t want to miss are the free tastings offered regularly on Fridays and Saturdays. Cheers!
This is one of my simple pleasures. If you spend much time and money in home improvement stores, you need to know this: There’s free coffee waiting for you! Ace Hardware, Lowe’s, Home Depot—these folks generally have hot coffee ready to go, so bring your travel mug when you shop. You won’t get your Americano or latte fix, but hey, free coffee.
Generally your cup o’ joe can be found in the contractors’ section, but don’t be fooled. This is for you even if you’re not a contractor. I’ve asked loads of staff if this coffee is for me, a definite non-contractor, and the answer is always, “Have at it!”
Even if you don’t hold stock in these companies, enjoy a coffee dividend while you shop. Have at it!
Duncan and York has a really fun holiday shopping event in November. They serve wine and hors d’oeuvres, and everyone gets a goodie bag filled with some of their most loved items.
