Biltmore Park Artists Reception
When: Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 5:30–7:30 pm
Where: Beverly-Hanks Discovery Center, One Town Square Boulevard, Suite 140, Asheville
What: Spend an evening immersed in the local art scene. Mix, mingle, and meet local artist Molly Sawyer and find out why she chooses to live and work in Western North Carolina. Her original pieces will be on display in the Beverly-Hanks Biltmore Park office lobby. Drinks and appetizers will be served.
Who: Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, sculptor Molly Sawyer studied Ceramics at Guilford College where she pursued both pottery and abstract, hand built, clay sculpture. Learn more at mlsawyer.com.

Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy’s 16th Annual Conservation Celebration
When: Saturday, August 27, 2016, 4:00–8:00 pm
Where: Grand Highlands at Bearwallow Mountain Lodge, Hendersonville
What: This live and silent auction features local art, event passes, collectibles, and more. Come for the guided pre-celebration hike around Grand Highlands; stay for food by Chef Michael Catering and music by Grammy-nominated Whitewater Bluegrass Company. Raffle tickets to one of several trips must be purchased by August 24.
Who: Benefiting the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy, a local nonprofit organization creating a regional network of permanently protected farm, forest, and natural land. Nearly 27,000 acres of land in more than 150 projects are under the care of CMLC.

Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra Woodwinds Classic Golf Tournament
When: Monday, August 29, 2016, Check in at 11:00 am
Where: Kenmure Country Club, Flat Rock
What: Single players and teams of four have a day on the course to “chip in” for the symphony. Prizes will be offered for the longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pins, and net and gross. A BMW lease is available to anyone making a hole-in-one. A barbecue supper with complimentary wine and beer follow play, as well as a sports-themed silent auction and raffle.
Who: Benefiting the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, a 70-member, all-professional orchestra performing an annual five-concert season, serving nearly 4,000 patrons per year. The HSO offers a full progression of education programs for area children, from introductory concerts through to advanced ensemble and performance opportunities.
