3rd Annual Golf for Awareness

When: Friday, September 15, 2017, 12:00–5:00pm

Where: Asheville Municipal Golf Course, 226 Fairway Drive, Asheville

What: The third annual Golf for Awareness FUNdraiser is played with Captain’s Choice rules and a five-club-only format. Individual players will use these same five clubs for the entire tournament (so they must pick and choose wisely!). The 2016 winning team will only be allowed 4 clubs in the 2017 Tournament and the 2016 last place team will be allowed 6 clubs this year. This tournament is “friendly” to serious and novice golfers alike, and there are still player and sponsorship positions available.

Lunch and registration begin at noon. The shotgun-style play starts at 1:30pm. Helping hands and additional donations are welcome, too.

Who: Benefiting the Downtown Welcome Table and Haywood Street Respite. Both housed within the Haywood Street Congregation in downtown Asheville, the programs offer valuable services to the most vulnerable in our community. Welcome Table serves 600+ people weekly through four seatings of free lunch on Wednesdays and three seatings of dinner on Sundays. Haywood Street Respite provides eight homeless adults at a time with a place to rest and get three meals a day following discharge from the hospital.

The 2016 Golf for Awareness FUNdraiser was a sell-out event, raising more than $10,000 for the Downtown Welcome Table. This year’s event also raises funds for Haywood Street Respite. Beverly-Hanks’ downtown Asheville office is sending a team of players and will be contributing to team prizes. Can we count on you to join us?

There will be a Preview Reception and a Silent Auction Friday evening, September 29, at 5:00pm. A Closing Reception will thank the artists on Friday, October 13 at 5:00pm. The Silent Auction will close at 6:00pm that night, and results will be announced.
