Where: Haywood County, NC

What: Wander through art and the beauty in the mountains at ARTQUEST HAYWOOD. This free, self-guided event offers you a unique look at a vibrant community of professional artists scattered throughout the beautiful countryside and charming downtowns of Waynesville, Canton, and Clyde. Artists’ studios are open to the public, and you can admire and purchase works of art directly from the people who create them. Treat yourself to a drive in the scenic mountains that inspire local artists and start a memory-filled art collection along the way!  

Who: ARTQUEST TOURS was founded to raise public appreciation of the many accomplished artists in Haywood County, to enrich the county’s cultural image, and boost the local economy through the arts.

3rd Annual “Hats, Horses, & Hope” Kentucky Derby Party

3rd Annual “Hats, Horses, & Hope” Kentucky Derby Party

When: Saturday, May 5 | 4:30pm

Where: AC Hotel by Marriott Asheville Downtown, 10 Broadway Street, Asheville

What: The 3rd annual Hats, Horses, and Hope event is a Kentucky Derby party, presented in partnership with Asheville Lifestyle Magazine, with all proceeds benefiting Our VOICE. The festive gathering features classy hats, a live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby, music, mint juleps, local beer, catered hors d’oeuvres, and an auction! Beverly-Hanks is serving as a Bronze Bouquet Sponsor of the event.

Who: Benefiting Our VOICE, Buncombe County’s sexual assault service agency.

Mountain Housing Opportunities Ramp Festival

Mountain Housing Opportunities Ramp Festival

When: Saturday, May 12

Where: TBA

What: For the past 23 years, Mountain Housing Opportunities and volunteers from the community have spent several weekends in late spring building wheelchair ramps for low income people in Asheville and Buncombe County. Beverly-Hanks Mortgage Services participates through the Mortgage Bankers Association of Western North Carolina, which sends a team of volunteers every year.

Who: Mountain Housing Opportunities is a local nonprofit whose mission is to build and improve homes, neighborhoods, communities, and lives, and build hope and dignity in the people they serve.
