“There is a great need here in Haywood County for our services,” says Julia Freeman, Executive Director of REACH of Haywood County. “REACH remains the primary organization to deliver those services to the victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse.”
In 2015, REACH worked with over 700 victims and families, 91 of whom were in need of emergency shelter. REACH’s shelter and clients are always in need. To combat the issue, the organization operates a resale thrift shop.
Within REACH Resale Shop and Home Store sells quality women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as home and kitchen items, furniture, lamps, toys, art, books, and more. Proceeds from Within REACH help provide shelter and services to REACH clients. And as if that’s not enough incentive to shop with them, the store even offers Frequent Shopper Cards, which earn customers a $5 discount after every $50 of purchases.
Within REACH Retail Shop is open Monday–Friday 10:00–5:00 and Saturday 10:00–2:00 at 456 Hazelwood Avenue in Waynesville. Learn more about the shop and REACH’s services on their website and Facebook page.
