The Colonial Theater located in Canton opened in June of 1932. In 2000 the Colonial Theater was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and has been renovated and is now used for concerts, movies, and plays.Haywood county has so many unique, historic places to visit. See the complete list on National Register of Historic Places

South MainThis Victorian home dates from the Civil War when it was owned by a Confederate officer. It was completely rebuilt after a fire in 1899 and is now listed on the National Historic Register. The home is on one acre in Downtown Waynesville. It was fully restored and rewired in 1996 and has been operated since then as Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast. The house features five guest bedrooms, each with a mountain view.

The fine hardwood craftsmanship throughout this grand old house is exceptional and includes a beautiful open central staircase, solid paneled and wide pocket doors, raised wainscotting and boxed beam ceiling.
