Waynesville’s last “Art After Dark”

images-10The Waynesville Gallery Association presents “Art After Dark” 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Santa will be making his rounds and making his list during the evening. Michael Pilgrim will be the musician on the street. Waynesville’s Art After Dark takes place the first Friday of each month, May through December.

Enjoy a stroll through working studios and galleries on Main Street, Depot Street and in Historic Frog Level. Festive flags identify participating galleries such as Art on Depot, Blue Owl Studio and Gallery, Burr Studio and Gallery, Earthworks Gallery, Grace Cathey Sculpture Garden and Gallery, Haywood County Arts Council’s Gallery 86, Ridge Runner Naturals, Textures, The Jeweler’s Workbench, T Pennington Art Gallery and Twigs and Leaves Gallery.towns-waynesville-twigs-and-leaves

Burr Studio is hosting an opening reception with artist Courtney Tomchik and her raku storytellers, mirrors and other items to purchase just in time for holiday gift giving.

Haywood County Arts Council’s Gallery 86 is hosting its annual pint-sized art exhibition, “It’s a Small, Small Work”, featuring art-work 12 inches or smaller by 118 artists of all ages from the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area.

Textures will be having a beer tasting with the Frog Level Brewing Company. Enjoy soft pretzels and other Holiday treats from It’s Simply Delicious, while listening to music by Karen “Sugar” Barnes.

Visit Twigs and Leaves Gallery- named “Haywood County’s Best Gallery” by Mountain Xpress for the second year in a row- and join owners John and Carrie Keith as they celebrate the holiday season with gratitude to the thousands of customers and supporters who have visited the gallery during 2010. Enjoy music by the Signature Winds, Haywood County’s resident woodwind quintet, along with piano accompaniment for seasonal favorites. Hor d’oeuvres and the work of 170 artists will help set the holiday mood.
