Live the life you choose

Black Mountain is the “Front Porch of Western North Carolina”

Outdoor recreation is one of Black Mountain's hallmarks and nearby fishing holes abound. Just north of town, the 10-acre Lake Tomahawk and its bankside walkways are a favorite spot for a stroll, fishing off the peer, or a non-motorized boat ride. Several local summer camps are some of the most long-established in the area.

BLACK MOUNTAIN HAS A DISTINGUISHED HISTORY OF ARTS

The town's historic feel is enhanced at local institutions like the Swannanoa Valley Museum & History Center. The two-story museum is located in the former Black Mountain Fire Department building, which was designed by Richard Sharp Smith (project architect for Asheville's Biltmore Estate) in 1921. Also downtown is the nicely preserved historic train depot, which is now run as a gift shop and event space by a crew of volunteers.

The distinguished, avant-garde Black Mountain College was located next to Lake Eden from 1933–57. Students of and visitors to the college included art and thought celebs like Buckminster Fuller, Josef Albers, John Cage, Allen Ginsberg, Albert Einstein, and Jack Kerouac. To take in this part of the town’s history, you must travel 15 miles to downtown Asheville and visit the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center. The facility pays homage to the iconoclastic institution with an ongoing roster of exhibits, talks, and performances.

The scatter diagram plots price (along the horizontal axis) and square footage (along the vertical axis), the pattern of the resulting points reveals any correlation present between the price and the size of the home. When enough correctly selected closed sales are present a linear regression can be calculated providing insight for properly pricing a property. This graph is only useful when similar properties are considered. For assistance identifying similar properties and determining if a correlation does exist, please contact your agent or customer service.

Examining the number of homes sold per month can be an effective way to gauge the sales pace for a particular market. When sales pace is considered alongside days on market the two metrics can prove very effective for revealing future market conditions.
